Here are a couple of photos and a video of Lyric getting her Hickman dressing changed. The dressing covers the Hickman catheter surgically placed into a vein near her heart and needs changed weekly. Through this Hickman, she can get her IV fluids, take blood, receive medicine & chemo and if necessary receive a bone marrow stem cell transplant through. Lyric used to hate getting the dressing changed. She would scream and fight terribly. In the video you can see how adaptive children are and how things they used to hate become a normal part of their day.
