Lyric & Big Sister - Day 3
Lyric got enjoy a third full day with big sister Hayden. We played all day searching for new things to do. We found this really large wheel chair and went for a spin.
Today the Dr.'s surprised us with the news that Lyric's recovery has really improved almost over night. They want to draw blood in the morning and run her numbers again. If there is a predictable increase in the numbers than it looks like we could go home tomorrow for a few days. We will see.

Two Days With Big Sister - Day One
While Lyric is recovering from her second round of chemo she gets to spend to full days with big Sister Hayden. They have picked up right where they left off in July when she got sick. They have played with everything and everywhere on the pod. They both love to go to the quiet room and sit in the rocking chairs.

1st Birthday Cake
When it was time for Lyric to eat her cake for the first time we moved her to the hallway where you enter the pod. Everyone gathered at the door to watch through the windows as she tore into the cake. We dressed her from head to toe in a Minnie Mouse outfit to protect her Hickman line. She was hesitant at first, just staring at the cake but soon began to eat.
We want to thank everyone that made it to the hospital to share in this special day with Lyric. Thanks for being patient under the circumstances, it means a lot to us. Thank you to Lyric's Mi Mi Singleton for bringing a balloon to all the kids on the pod, they have been thanking me for two days.
Birthday Party

Lyric had a good time at her party. Unfortunately her numbers fell to zero the day before so being immune suppressed she was confined to her room only. We tried hard to make it as special as possible. About 35 friends and family gathered in the family room outside the pod and went back to her room two at a time to sing and give her gifts. In the 6A pod you can only have two people per room at all times since this is a filtrated environment.
I was not able to get many photos in the room since I was in the family room with everyone else but some of the guests picked up the camera and shot a few.
Cake Eating Costume
In the afternoon before Lyric's party, the hospital cafe brought Lyric a huge banana split for her Birthday. We ate more than her. she needed room in her belly for her own cake. Ha Ha.
